Park Guell is one of the symbols of the city and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Every corner of the park reveals the freedom of the spirit and the creative genius of its creator – Antoni Gaudi. Colors, shapes and nature mix here to bring joy and delight all the senses.
Originally conceived as a residential area for the elite of Barcelona, today this place is a public park named after the Spanish tycoon Eusebi Guell. His main idea for this place was to build a kind of district for the wealthiest citizens, 60 residential houses in total, and offer them a unique place for living surrounded by greenery, amazing views of the city and beautiful architecture. The project was finally not carried out and today there are only three buildings left in the park in one of which Gaudi himself lived.
The Monumental Zone of the park, rich in colors and mosaics, is impressive. It’s known, that Gaudi’s architectural style is inspired by nature, and in Park Guell this is visible everywhere.
