MAIN SIGHTS
- ROYAL SQUARE “PLAÇA DEL REI”
Just steps from the lively street Las Ramblas, this square is certainly one of the most picturesque in Barcelona. Some of its bars and restaurants hide secrets that will be revealed by the guide.
- THE PINE’ SQUARE “PLAÇA DEL PI”
Plaça del Pi is a beautiful square in the middle of the Gothic Quarter. There is located one of the gothic churches of Barcelona “Santa Maria del Pi” from the XIV century. If you want to try some local delicacies, you will find them at its food market (if the tour is guided on Saturday)
- JEWISH QUARTER (“EL CALL”) and Plaça Sant Felip Neri
The oldest and most mysterious part of Barcelona, where you will find out what happened to the thriving Jewish community. The square is a favorite place among movie directors. This hidden but important square has several secrets to tell the visitor.
- SANT JAUME SQUARE
It is the center of political life in the city with over 2000 years of history. Today, the main government buildings are located there. Many festivities in Barcelona start or end here, so you may be lucky enough to see some of the Catalan traditions performed there.
- BARCELONA CATHEDRAL (exterior only)
Located in the historical center of Barcelona, La Seu is one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in Spain. High bell towers, antique stained glass windows and frightening gargoyles are part of the exterior design and decoration of the building. The temple is dedicated to St. Eulalia, a girl martyred for her faith in Christ in the 4th century.
- SANT FELIPE NERI SQUARE
The only downside to Plaça Sant Felip Neri is actually finding it. Hidden at the end of the Jewish Quarter, you will feel as if you are in a small village, miles from lively Barcelona. A favorite of movie directors, this quiet place also has a few tales to tell the visitor.
- THE ROMAN CITY
Roman heritage is all over Barcelona, remains of a Roman aqueduct, a Roman cemetery, parts of its impressive city wall that appear in various places, reminiscent of this ancient period. But the most interesting Roman treasure from the first century BC awaits you in the courtyard of an apartment building!
- MEDIEVAL CITY AND “PLAÇA DEL REI”
Visiting this square is like traveling back to the time when the counts lived in its medieval royal palace. King Ferdinand, Christopher Columbus and the Spanish Inquisition have something to tell you in this square.
- TAPAS AND WINE DINNER IN A LOCAL AND TRENDY TAPAS BAR (BORN QUARTER)
With the help of the local chef and your local guide you will be able to understand and enjoy the tradition and evolution of Catalan and Mediterranean gastronomy. The dishes are carefully prepared by the chef and perfectly combined with a good selection of Spanish wines.
